Beautiful landscape on both sides

At 1:00 we arrived at Juno Ocean Walk RV Resort. It was the tightest campsite we have had so far. It was a very pretty campsite. We explored the area and walked out on the pier. The beach was very nice. Our friends from Pittsford, Debbi & Dave Galloway and Debbie & Jim Shannon came up to see our RV and then we went out to dinner. The next day we went to Debbie and Jim's condo and then drove with them to a golf club in Boca and met the Galloways. The 7 of us, Debbi G.'s mother played with us girls, played 18 holes of golf. We all went back to the Galloways and had dinner. The next day we left for the Keys.

Four days in Melbourne Beach

Campsite E6

We arrived at our next campsite, Space Coast RV Resort, in Rockledge, FL. It was our least favorite campsite so far. It is about 7 miles from Mike's Air Force buddy, Steve and his wife Sandy, who live in Melbourne. We spent Thurs. evening at their house. Steve and Mike golfed on Friday and Saturday. Sandy and I went shopping at Cocoa Beach Village on Saturday. Saturday night we went to Sunset Grill on the inter coastal waterway and had dinner and watched the sun set. We also saw dolphins swimming by. We had a nice time visiting them.

Our campsite #226

Our campsite #226, nice deck

We have been here for a week now. The weather has been rather chilly. One morning it was 33 degrees. We have had lots of sunny days but cool. Today it is raining but 68 degrees. I have walked the beach almost every day. Mike has played golf 3 times. We have only cooked dinner here in the RV once. We usually go out to dinner with our friends the Scott's. Last Wed. we went with them to a rest/bar and ate supper then played Trival Pursuit with about 6 other tables, our table won. They do this every week. On Sat. we went with the Scott's to a huge Flea Market, that was fun never been to one. We spent Sunday at their house watching football and I did 2 loads of laundry. We ate lunch outside on the deck only once. Our day is usually spent doing some shopping either grocery or for things then eat lunch and read or work on the computer, watch TV or play cards. Very easy life.

Day 5

Day 5 1/18/11 We were up and out the door for breakfast by 9:15. Came back and got the RV ready to head south. We were on I 95 at 10:45. We hit the Florida state line at noon and the sky was blue and sunny - welcome to the Sunshine State. By 1:00 it started to rain. We got to St. Augustine around 2:30 We drove to Bryn Mawr Ocean Resort under gray skies. We registered and unhooked the car and drove to our campsite which is right on the beach. It is such a great setting, we love it. It took us 2 hours to set up. We had to unwinterize the water system, that was fun, but we did it. We now have fresh water, hot and cold. We have a great raised covered deck with a picnic table. I hope we can eat out there many times. We are staying here for 8 days. I will do pictures later.

Day 4

One of the swans in the lake

Savanna South KOA in Richmond Hills, GA

Day 4 1/17/11 Another cold morning. We were back on I 95 at 8:45. We ate breakfast on the road. At 1:15 it started to rain. We reached our next campground, Savanna South KOA, by 3:00. We are now in Richmond Hills, GA just south of Savannah. This camp site is the prettiest so far. There is a lake in front of our site and it is filled with water fowl. There are about 10 swans. They are so big and so pretty. We went out to dinner and when we came back Mike watched SU basketball and I worked on the computer and watched my own TV. They say tonight's temperature is 40 degrees - a heat wave.

RVacation RV Park in Selma, NC

Day 3 1/16/11 We left Tom and Meg's house around 9:15 and hooked up the car to the RV and took off south at 10:10. We had a smooth drive down to Selma, NC. We got to our campsite around 3:00. It is right off I 95. The campground is called RVacation RV Park. It was sunny and 56 degrees. We set up, even pushed out the slide-outs. We had a glass of wine outside while watching the sun set. Retirement is great. We went out to dinner. When we got back Mike watched football and I worked on the computer. Another cold sleeping night, 29 degrees.

Day 1 and Day 2 of trip to Florida

Walmart in Ruckersville, VA

Day 2 Sat. 1/15/11 We got up around 8:15, freezing cold out. We got the RV ready to roll and left the Carlisle campground and stopped for breakfast. We were heading south by 11:00. We arrived at the Walmart in Ruckersville, VA about 3:00. We unhooked the car and drove to our son Tom's house and spent the night.

Western Village RV Park in Carlisle, PA

Day 1 We left Pittsford at 9:30 AM on Friday Jan. 14, 2011. We drove to Mt. Morris, NY's rest stop off 390 and hooked my car up to the RV. The day was sunny and the roads were dry. Mike is doing great driving the "big bus". We decided to eat lunch on the road, because we can, so I made sandwiches while Mike was driving. That was a big time saver. We got to Carlisle, PA around 4:00 and ate dinner. From there it was under a mile to our campground, Western Village RV Park. We pulled into our spot and hooked up the electric and went inside and started the furnace up. We took the chill off then we turned off the furnace and plugged in our electric space heater. We spent the night checking out our computers, using the hot spot device Mike bought from Verizon. It worked great, we both could be on and do our own thing on our own computers. We then played cards. We went to bed, I put fleece PJs on because it was going down to 15 degrees during the night. I even wore my fleece hat which Mike laughed about. I brought along a heavy wool blanket which I am glad I did because it kept us warm all night long.
